After almost three years, hundreds of letters, phone calls and statements, Lexington’s Board of Selectmen finally gave the nod to a community farm tonight. There will be some as-yet-to-be-determined amount of affordable housing along the view of the farm, but there is no longer any doubt that most of the land will remain a farm and benefit of our community for generations to come! THANK YOU to all who have been a part of this extraordinary effort!
About Lexington Community Farm
Lexington Community Farm is a project of LexFarm in cooperation with Community Farms Outreach .
Opening in Spring 2014, Lexington Community Farm is a community based farm where area residents will come to learn about and enjoy food, farming, and nature. Produce grown by professional farmers will be sold through CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) shares and at our farm stand at 52 Lowell Street in Lexington, MA
As a nonprofit farm dedicated to serving the community, our mission is to preserve and transform this historic farmland for public benefit: offering hands-on education, volunteer, and recreation programs, food donations to food pantries, and making the landscape of a working farm accessible to residents of all ages.
