Welcome New Farm Manager Tim Hines!

FarmerTim-3
Lexington Community Farm’s new Farm Manager, Tim Hines, comes from a background of environmental restoration and land stewardship. He worked most recently as a member of the farm management team at The Trustees of Reservation’s Moraine Farm in Beverly. After working with organizations like the Emerald Necklace Conservancy, the National Park Service, and the US Fish and Wildlife Service on various ecological restoration projects, Tim became deeply interested in the social, economic, and environmental forces governing resource management, land use, and food systems.

Tim is extremely excited to find creative solutions to these complex issues at Lexington Community Farm. He feels that the farm has great potential as a source of sustainable and healthy food production, a teaching tool, and a place for the community to come together.  Tim looks forward to the challenge of learning about the land, honoring its deep agricultural history, and educating the community about sustainable farming and healthy food.

Tim enjoys working in the field with volunteers and helping them realize their “soul” vegetable–the vegetable most representative of their personality—as well as sharing cheesy jokes!

Come meet Tim at the LexFarm annual meeting on March 22.
