Welcome, New LexFarm Staff

ElanaElena Colman, Assistant Farm Manager

Born in Illinois, where the topsoil runs meters deep, Elena has spent the last 10 years farming in New England. She comes to Lexington Community Farm with 10 years of growing experience in Concord, MA at Brigham Farm and as the co-owner and manager of Crooked Row Fields. She is excited to join Tim Hines and LexFarm in its third year of growing, and looks forward to efficient, increased production this year. Having spent the last few years with a small farm crew, Elena is excited about the strong, enthusiastic community at Lexington Community Farm, the educational opportunities and conversations created in such a space, as well as new farm-based puns and recipes!

DevonDevon Byrne, Farm Educator

Devon is a transplant from Louisville, Kentucky who first found her way to New England after enrolling in the University of Vermont. There, she became intrigued with the connection between our food system, and our environmental and human health. After graduating with a B.S. in Environmental Studies, she moved to Colorado to complete an organic farm apprenticeship, earning a Permaculture Design Certificate and leading the farm’s youth ‘environmental stewardship’ camp. When not at LexFarm, she is managing the Farmer’s Market at Harvard and completing her certification as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. Having worked with adults and children, Devon is passionate about empowering and inspiring people and communities to achieve optimal health through farm-based education and advocacy for local agricultural systems. If you meet Devon in person, ask her about Teton Waters Ranch, a grass-fed beef company, and if it helped her to “meat” some new people!
