I hope that BUSA farm can remain intact. In addition to supplying my family with healthy with fresh healthy food through its farm stand, it also reduces the carbon footprint associated with food distribution and provides a vital connection for a broad local community with our environment and our New England heritage. This would be a lot to give up in exchange for real estate speculation that will serve very only very narrow interests.

I take it this is the petition for non-Lex residents? My family lives in Arlington. We have gone to Busa farm several times a week in the growing season for years. The loss of this farm as a community resource would be the death of so much potential. Already, the work of this organization has done much to increase the visibility and use of the farm. Has anyone asked Dennis how his sales numbers are this year? Much better, I am sure, and that is because of the more people are seeing the long-term value of it. I implore the selectmen not to be miss this historic, community-building opportunity.

As a new resident of Lexington and of MA I have found Busa farm a treasure-full gem that brings unique value to the community. My children have been hugely enriched by the opportunity to observe, experience, and pick farm grown produce nearby. Out of town guests to my home have been overwhelmed and amazed at the opportunity we have to participate in and pick fresh produce right within our suburban community. By far it has been the most amazing part of living in Lexington and our guests have independently concurred. Please continue to keep the unique treasure of a local community farm!

Extinct is forever – support local farms – for all environmental reasons. Think of the future – not the present = one site does not solve financial woes for the town or other problems.

Open space cannot easily be replaced —- and to use the space for farming —- perfect!!!!!
