LexFarm is a thriving, sustainable community farm dedicated to fostering learning, and strengthening connections among people and with the land, promoting environmental stewardship, and increasing access to fresh, healthy food for all.
We would love to host you and your colleagues at LexFarm!
Volunteering at LexFarm is a wonderful way to connect with your co-workers in a new way, in a new environment, and as part of your Corporate Social Responsibility and Employee Engagement programs. At the same time, you will make personal connections to your local food system and contribute to important field work activities central to the running of our community farm. We have a small field crew, so the extra hands and energy a group of 10-30 volunteers brings can really help us make quick work of large tasks!
What kinds of activities will we do?
Typical tasks include transplanting seedlings, moving tarps, weeding, mulching, and harvesting.
How do we prepare? What about the weather?
Field work is physical, and usually quite dirty, work. Please wear clothing you are comfortable in, close-toed shoes, and either rain jacket or sun hat (depending on the weather). We run programs in most weather from sun to light rain. Please also bring a water bottle so you can stay hydrated while doing this physical work in unshaded farm fields. It is important to us that all our volunteers are comfortable and healthy.
When can I bring my group to LexFarm?
We schedule groups for dates running April through October, on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, and some Monday afternoons. Please reach out to [email protected] to discuss date availability.
What size groups do you accommodate?
We welcome groups ranging from 10 to 30 volunteers.
Is a donation to the farm required?
A monetary contribution from your organization supports staffing for your event. Your donation helps us to further our mission.
