Openings for Board and Committee Volunteers

Are you interested in being more involved in the “behind the scenes” work that makes everything you enjoy about the farm possible?

Board Members

The LexFarm Nominating Committee is seeking new board members to join our active Board.  Use your interests, skills and talents to help LexFarm.  New Board members will be elected at our Annual meeting in March.  If you have any interest, please contact Sue Schiffer, [email protected].

Committee Members

We’re seeking volunteers to join our committees to help with the following:

  • fundraising
  • writing
  • administrative tasks
  • events

If you’re interested in helping LexFarm continue to thrive, please send an email to one of the committee contacts, listed below, or to [email protected].

The Community Education and Engagement Committee helps with community outreach through education, communications and events. Under this committee are other working groups:

The Education Committee builds farm-based curriculum, creates on-farm educational signs, leads or administrators on- and off-farm programs, runs children activities during farm events, and works with local schools.

We are looking for individuals who are interested in educating the community about sustainable agriculture, local food and organic practices. We welcome teachers, students, parents and anyone who has a passion for teaching the community (and learning along with them) about just where our food comes from. Contact Education Committee member, Amanda Maltais, [email protected].

The Communications Committee keeps LexFarm members informed about what’s happening at the farm and in our community.

We are looking for people who enjoy writing and would like to get involved in publicity. Contact Communication Committee member, Mary Rose Scozzafava at
[email protected].

The Development Committee is responsible for fundraising to support LexFarm programs. We connect with farm members and donors through calls and emails, farm tours and thank you events and we generate a year-end appeal mailing. We are currently looking for 2 people to join our committee to help us write fundraising materials and with donor outreach. Contact Development Committee member, Sue Schiffer, [email protected].

The Agriculture/Property Committee works with the farm staff to support farm operations and programming by proposing needed property improvements and a plan to complete them using a combination of professionals and volunteers. Contact the Agriculture/Property Committee chairperson, Mark Gabrenya, [email protected].
