Silk Fields: What’s Next for the Land and Animals Beside LexFarm?

Many in our community know and love the goats, alpacas, and chickens at Silk Fields, located at 7 Farm Road, directly behind LexFarm. What you may not know is that this 2.5-acre property is privately owned, and the owner is now exploring development options for the site.

These animals have been a joyful draw for visitors and an important part of our education programs. We are deeply grateful to the Silk Fields owners, who have been wonderful neighbors and partners, and we continue to work with them toward the best possible outcome—for them, for the farm, and for the community.
