Update: December 1, 2011: THANK YOU!! We have had a great response to our call for raked leaves! Our goats will be well-nourished over the next few months! At this time, we do not need any more leaves and are working on storing what we have.
Raked Leaves Donation Program
Our goats love to munch on crunchy leaves during the winter when there is very little forage. We will be storing bags of leaves as part of their winter feed this year. All of you who will be raking your yard in the next couple of weeks, please consider bringing your filled bags to the goat yard! Our goats love Oak, Maple, Beech, Hickory, and Ash leaves, as well as acorns.
- NO fruit tree leaves please (cherry, apple, pear) as they are not good for our girls.
- We ask that any leaves that we receive be completely DRY as we do not want mold growing as we store them.
- Please do not include any leaves that have been sprayed with pesticides.
- No rotten acorns please!
There will be a drop-off spot to the left of the Busa Farm stand with marked bins for your donations. Thank you!!
