ORGANIC CSA

2025 Community Supported Agriculture

Overview

A Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program connects you with your food.

By buying a share in the winter, you’re reserving weekly pick-ups of sustainably-grown produce right here on our farm. Throughout the growing seasons, you visit the farm to pick them up.

We plant, grow, and harvest vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers to provide fresh, certified-organic produce to the community. And, we partner with local farms to supplement what we can’t grow. This allows us to offer fruit, mushrooms, and additional varieties of vegetables.

Supporting Food Access

Increasing food access is core to LexFarm’s mission. This year, we will continue to offer subsidized shares to SNAP recipients and donate at least 10% of what we grow to local food access programs. If you are interested in helping us feed those in need, please consider making a donation to our 2025 Feed Local, Give Local campaign. Donated funds will go directly towards expenses associated with growing and harvesting food – seeds, fertility, greenhouse and field supplies, energy and labor – to provide access to those in need.

Summer

Summer Vegetable Share

Our Summer Vegetable Share runs for 20 weeks from late May/early June to October. Exact dates are TBD and are based on early spring conditions.

We offer two size options:

  • Full Share: 20-weeks: Pickup your share EVERY week of the season.
  • Half Share: 10-weeks: Pickup your share EVERY OTHER week of the season. (You will be assigned to the ODD or EVEN week group when we announce the start date of the CSA.)

Summer Vegetable Shareholders have two options for pick up. There are a limited number of spots available for each option, so an early sign up is necessary to secure your preference.

  • Option 1: Wednesday or Thursday
  • Option 2: Friday or Saturday

All of the produce in the share is certified organic. The majority is grown at LexFarm and is supplemented with additional produce from other local farms to offer you more variety. Each week, we strive to include an allium (onion/garlic family), fresh eating greens, cooking greens, herbs and bulkier veggies to round out your meals.

Our share also includes an educational and fun Pick-Your-Own experience.

FarmBucks

The Summer Vegetable Share includes our “FarmBucks” program to provide additional variety and/or volume to weekly shares. FarmBucks can be used to purchase any seedling or produce for sale in the farm stand during the 2024 Summer CSA season.

  • 10-week Summer Vegetable Share includes $35 in FarmBucks.

FarmBucks allow you to purchase produce in the farm stand that are not included in the shares. We can offer a smaller quantity of a wider variety of produce in the farm stand, and we created Farm Bucks to give you access to that produce.

FarmBucks are tracked at the farm stand (no need to remember a card).

FarmBucks EXPIRE on the last pickup day of the SUMMER CSA SEASON. No exceptions.

SNAP Summer Vegetable Share

FarmBucks

The Summer Vegetable Share includes our “FarmBucks” program to provide additional variety and/or volume to weekly shares. FarmBucks can be used to purchase any seedling or produce for sale in the farm stand during the 2024 Summer CSA season.

  • 20-week Summer Vegetable Share includes $70 in FarmBucks.
  • 10-week Summer Vegetable Share includes $35 in FarmBucks.

FarmBucks allow you to purchase produce in the farm stand that are not included in the shares. Space constraints and disease and pest pressures are the major reasons for not growing 200+ of certain crops (like fennel)!

Gleaners’ Share

This is a program geared towards the food waste warrior and canner/preserver. This Pick-Your-Own (PYO) Share will occur over the course of the entire growing season with 7-9 harvesting opportunities possible from mid-June through the beginning of October.

This share occurs on an “as-ready” basis, meaning the shares will not usually be in consecutive weeks. On share weeks, the share will be announced via email on Monday for Wednesday-Saturday harvesting. You will be able to PYO anytime the farmstand is open during the designated weeks AND on Thursday between 7:30am and 7pm. In 2024 shareholders received snap peas, green beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, greens, herbs and peppers with a total value far exceeding the purchase price of the share. Note: not all items are suitable for canning (like kale and herbs) but all can be preserved via freezing, drying, canning, pickling, fermentation and other forms of preservation.

Flower Share

LexFarm’s flower share is a pick-your-own experience where you will pick an average of 24 stems per week for 12 consecutive weeks, starting some time in July. You can pick your flowers any time the farmstand is open. We plant celosia, snapdragons, rudbeckia, sunflowers, cosmos, marigolds, zinnias, statice, ageratum, gomphrena, strawflower, and more! There’s a unique joy in picking your flowers, and the satisfaction of seeing a bouquet come together, knowing that you personally selected each stem. Note that the price will include a 6.25% sales tax.

Fruit Share

LexFarm is delighted to partner again with local farms such as Autumn Hill Orchards and Warner Farm to provide a 13-15 week Fruit Share, starting in early to mid-July. All fruit is grown locally using IPM (Integrated Pest Management) or organic growing practices.

Shares will vary in size and value throughout the season. The share starts light with berries as fruit season begins but gets progressively heftier with peaches, plums, melons and more at the height of summer, and apples and pears to close out the season. Many apples store well and are great for making pies and applesauce to enjoy through the winter.

Note that pickups will be on Wednesday or Thursday only to ensure the quality of the produce. New England’s climate brings some unpredictability as to what may be available, but we strive to provide you with the best of the growing season’s fruits.

Fall

Fall Vegetable Share

LexFarm’s Fall Share consists of four bi-weekly shares distributed in November and December. A big portion of the share are storage crops, and as a result each distribution is larger and meant to last over two weeks. You will pick-up a share every other week during the season on Friday or Saturday.

Shareholders will be able to choose from two pick-up schedules. There will be limited quantities in each session.

  • Session A – 10/24, 11/7, 11/21, 12/12
  • Session B – 10/31, 11/14, 12/5, 12/19

Sharing our Season Disclaimer

As a CSA member, you are supporting the farm and sharing both the bounty and risks of farming. By signing up for a CSA, you understand that those risks include poor harvests of crops due to unexpected weather, pests and disease, and while unlikely, there is a chance of total crop loss due to flood, drought, or other natural disasters.

ALL PYO WILL be closed in the case of thunderstorms, and cherry tomato PYO will be closed in the case of rain. (Common tomato diseases are spread more easily when leaves are wet.) Please check our Facebook page for weather updates.
