Highlights

Each year, we grow a variety of plant starts that we know will do well in our area. There are favorites we grow year after year in the farm fields or have come recommended to us by farmer friends or local garden clubs.

We start thousands of tomato, eggplant, pepper, cucumber and summer squash plants, and we source certified-organic herbs plugs. We grow an expanding variety of culturally relevant plants for our East Asian and South Asian neighbors, including various gourds, melons, eggplants and cucumbers. This year, we’re offering okra for the first time due to popular demand! We also are experimenting with some different varieties of bitter melons and luffas than usual, in hopes of better germination and due to seed availability.

This year, we’re also partnering with David Schwartz of Twig Daddy to offer nut and fruit trees, vines, and shrubs! These offerings are started right in Boston and he uses all organic practices despite not being certified. There are well known offerings like raspberries, grapes, and hazelnuts, as well as more niche offerings that are native to the northeast, like pawpaws, honeyberries, and serviceberries.
