Animal Caretakers
Kids 7 and up learn what it’s like to live on a farm by helping with animal care and chores! This program is for students who love animals and want to spend more time with them. We’ll learn about the goats, alpacas and chickens as we work together to complete chores like feeding, collecting eggs, brushing and walking the goats, free-ranging the chickens and – everyone’s favorite – mucking out the barns! Requires a willingness to stay moving, get messy and do some hard work. The animals are especially appreciative of this extra TLC in the cold winter months!
Farm Scouts
Keep your child outside and active all winter! In this drop-off program, 6-10 year olds learn about local wildlife and winter-time farming practices like hydroponics and greenhouse planting. We’ll introduce lots of active games to stay warm and take nature walks around the Arlington Reservoir. We’ll also spend time each week caring for the goats, alpacas and chickens. If needed, we’ll utilize our geodesic dome for shelter and warmth! Student teacher ratio 6:1.
Farm Explorers
Immerse your child in nature this winter! This drop-off series for 3-6 year olds is a time for children to play, explore, and learn on the farm. We’ll learn about how wild animals adapt and survive through winter, grow some veggies inside the greenhouse, and do a lot of playing in the mud and snow. We’ll also spend time caring for the chickens, goats, and alpacas! We’ll plan to be outside most of the time, but will use our geodesic dome classroom space for warmth and shelter as needed.
Farm Friends
Enjoy the simple beauty of winter on the farm with your little one. In this program caregivers and children 2-3 years old explore and play outside together. Each class will have a seasonal theme, circle time songs and hands-on activity. We’ll play in the dirt, mud and snow and visit with the chickens, goats, and alpacas. We’ll plan to be outside most of the time, but will use our geodesic dome classroom space for warmth and shelter as needed!
